India celebrate Laxmi Puja, Laxmi Aarti with much fanfare

Diwali is the biggest festival in India. People wait for this occasion with much enthusiasm and excitement. The Diwali 2008 was no exception. Goddess Laxmi is worshipped on the auspicious day of Diwali. Diwali Aarti or Laxmi Aarti or Ganesh Aarti was held with much gaiety. People lightened lamps, diyas and candles to perform Diwali Aarti.

Laxmi puja or Lakshmi puja was held in the evening, as people sought blessing from goddess Laxmi to get health and wealth. Laxmi aarti or lakshmi aarti was performed with full devotion. Many people performed lakshmi aarti and ganesh aarti by lighting their homes, offices etc. Lakshmi pooja is considered most important for the business community in India.

Although lakshmi puja (laxmi puja), laxmi aarti (lakshmi aarti) and diwali aarti was performed only in north and central India a few years back, now they are being performed across India. Irrespective of regional affiliation, people celebrate diwali, dhanteras, laxmi puja, laxmi aarti and ganesh aarti with pure heart and soul.
